Service/program name: Consumer Support Group
Description: Meetings are the first and third Mondays at 7:00 p.m. at Riverside Medical Center's Conference Room A. Focus is on sharing experiences as consumers of mental health services.

Service/program name: Family Member Support Group
Description: Focus is on sharing our experiences as family members of loved ones with biological brain disorders. In doing so we learn from and support each other.

Service/program name: Family-to-Family Education Program
Description: A peer family education program designed to foster learning, healing, and empowerment among families of individuals with serious brain disorders (major depression, manic depression, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, panic disorder, obsessive/compulsive disorder, personality disorder, co-occuring brain disorders and addictive disorders.) This training is a series of 12 weekly classes structured to help family members understand and support their ill relative while maintaining their own well-being. The course is taught by a team of trained volunteer family members who know what it's like to have a loved one with a serious mental illness in the family. There is NO COST to participate in this training...all we require is that those who sign up commit to attending all twelve sessions.

Description: NAMI is a non-profit, self-help organization whose goal is to improve the quality of life for persons with mental illness and their families. Mental illnesses include major depression, manic-depression (bi-polar), schizophrenia, schizo-affective disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, co-occuring brain and addictive disorders.
