Description: The Kankakee County TRIAD for Seniors - "Reducing Crime Against the Elderly" is a county-wide program that was established to provide training and briefing to help our elderly population to protect themselves against bodily injury as well as fraud. Newsletters are sent out monthly to attendees. TRIAD also offers programs frequently such as senior citizen vehicle checks. (* This group is open to the public and meets the first Wednesday of every month at Provena Heritage Village in Kankakee at 10:00 a.m. Every month a new program is presented. All are invited to attend.)
SALT COMMITTEE: This group is a combination of the Community Policing Division, ESDA, Seniors and lawmen working together to reduce crime in the community. It is open to the public for seats on the committees such as Crime Prevention and Publicity. (* This group meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 1:00 p.m. at the Sheriff's Department facility.)

Description: The major purpose of a TRIAD is to develop, expand, and implement effective crime prevention and education programs for older community members.
