Service/program name: Cloverbuds
Description: Designed to introduce 5-7 year olds to a variety of 4-H experiences. The 4-H Cloverbud groups will be involved in activities led by an adult that will help the 4-H'ers: Learn how to get along and share with others; Explore many different interests; Learn basic living skills; Build self-confidence; Learn to communicate effectively; Learn how to be a part of a group. The program is noncompetitive! Cloverbuds do not participate in competitive events, contests, shows or raise animals as a 4-H project and are not eligible to receive premiums. However, they may be given the opportunity to display their projects noncompetitively.

Service/program name: Family Life Newsletters
Description: Periodic newsletters are available by subscription. Titles include: Connecting With Kids (for parents of school-aged children); Nibbles (for childcare providers and parents of pre-school children); Thrifty Living (for low resource families); Working Families (for working families); and Parenting Again (for grandparents raising grandchildren).

Description: The Family Nutrition Program staff teach and promote safe and healthy eating for families on a budget. Education programs and newsletters that are available include: Healthy Eating; Safe Eating; Food Budgeting; monthly and seasonal topics.

Service/program name: Kankakee County 4-H Program
Description: 4-H is a national organization that helps young people develop knowledge and skills to help them become productive citizens. It also helps them be more capable to meet the diversities and challenges of today's society. 4-H allows youth and adults to work together to design programs that will teach skills for living. 4-H upholds the theme of "learning by doing." 4-H reaches people in their own neighborhoods with delivery methods suitable to their needs. 4-H also helps provide a stronger bond between family members. County and regional 4-H programs are directed by professional Extension staff who train and support the volunteers who work with 4-H members.
