Description: Services include: BOOKS (Thousands of volumes of fiction and non-fiction, from the classics to contemporary, for adults, teens and children. Teen section includes fiction, nonfiction and magazines. Children's materials include Board Books, Easy Readers, and Story Books with cassettes); AUDIO BOOKS (on cassette and CD); LARGE PRINT BOOKS; VIDEOS; MAGAZINES; NEWSPAPERS (Daily editions of Chicago Tribune, Kankakee Daily Journal, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Times Republic); REFERENCE MATERIALS (Print, CD-ROM, and Internet); ENCYCLOPEDIAS; VERTICAL FILE (a collection of articles from newspapers and pamphlets, filled by subject); LOCAL HISTORY COLLECTION; MICROFILM READER/PRINTER (Times Republic, 1959-present, and other Iroquois County newspapers with various dates on microfilm); and COLLEGE & CAREER GUIDES (Information about many colleges and universities, financial aid, creating a resume, interviewing skills, and more.)

Description: Services include: TODDLER TIME (18 months - 3 years, with an adult which includes songs, action rhymes, stories and an activity); STORY TIME FOR PRESCHOOLERS (Books and stories with occational videos or films centered around a theme); SUMMER READING PROGRAM FOR KIDS (a literature-based activity to promote reading and library usage with two reading levels: Read-To-Me and self-directed); SUMMER READING PROGRAM FOR TEENS; BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP FOR ADULTS; WRITERS LIVE AT THE LIBRARY (a series of programs designed to increase visibility of writers and libraries, and bring together writers and members of the public); ADULT LITERACY literacy programs from Kankakee Community College offering one-on-one tutoring); BOOKS FOR BABIES (every newborn in the Watseka area is given the gift of a board book to promote reading); and MEMORIALS & GIFTS(memorials offer an opportunity to honor and commemorate a special person.
