Description: The only university in Illinois serving junior, seniors, and master's students exclusively. Governors State University offers 42 degree programs in four colleges -- Arts and Sciences, Business and Public Administration, Education, and Health Professions -- and the Board of Governors (BOG) B.A. degree program, which offers credit for life experience learning.

Service/program name: GSU Kankakee Education Center
Description: The Governors State University Kankakee Campus is located at 187 South Schuyler, Kankakee in the Clock Tower Centre building. GSU offers a variety of upper-level undergraduate and graduate degrees, certificate programs and special interest workshops. Bachelor's degree programs in Criminal Justice, Communications, Communication Disorders, Social Work, and Nursing Courses in Special Education and Social Science.

GSU will be offering courses that can be used towards a MBA. A Certificate in Leadership & Organizational Devleopment with be offered that is designed to prepare managerial professionals for leadership positions in public and private organizations. The certifcate can be completed in one year and all courses can be applied to a MBA program at GSU.

Service/program name: Free Counseling Services
Description: Governors State University offers free counseling services through the Division of Psychology and Counseling. This services offers assistance on a wide range of siutations or problems such as: parent/child relationships; depression; stress; communication difficulties; loneliness; lack of self-confidence; unemployment; and personal growth.

The counseling service is offered as part of its training program for advanced graduate counseling students. Sessions are scheduled on campus in University Park. Sessions are tape-recorded to assist the student counselor's training and may be reviewed by supervising faculty or other counselors in training. All materials presented by clients during counseling sessions is confidential and available to no one except the supervising faculty and students in advanced training.
