This presentation will offer participants the opportunity to learn more about the following areas: suicide awareness and education, warning signs, stigma, trends and prevention programs. Mental Health America of Illinois will be sharing their “It Only Takes One” presentation which is a public awareness campaign to help create an Illinois where no one is touched by suicide.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is a not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide.

Kankakee County Mental Health Council Member Agencies will have informational displays available before and after the presentation.

Refreshments will be served.

3 CEU’s will be available for Social Workers, Counselors, & Nursing Home Administrators.

This event is free and open to the public.
