Red Ribbon Week October 23-31
Red Ribbon Week presents an opportunity for people and communities in Illinois and the nation to unite and take a visible stand against drugs. This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Red Ribbon which is a symbol of zero tolerance of illegal drug use and a commitment to a drug-free lifestyle. Illinois is participating in the national observance of "Paint the Nation Red" with " Paint Illinois Red".
Drug education must begin in the home long before the classroom. Parents can make a difference in their own families. For tips visit the Illinois Drug Education Alliance at http://www.bestofidea.com/Red_Ribbon_Guide_2010.pdf.
The I-KAN Regional Office of Education will join in the 25th anniversary celebration of Red Ribbon Week October 23-31.
