Success By Six

Tuesday, January 06, 2009

What happens in a child's early years matters. Raising families gets more challenging all of the time. The United Way of Kankakee County and the Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley have created a Success by Six Initiative. This Early Learning Coalition wants to help parents provide the enriching experiences and positive parent-child relationships necessary for children to begin school ready to succeed. The Success by Six Initiative will begin offering Parent Cafes in January 2009. The cafes will deal with parenting questions such as "Taking Care of Yourself", "Being a Strong Parent", and " Building Strong Relationships with Your Children." Through meaningful conversations with others, parents will work to build six protective factors that benefit their families. For more information, contact Pamela Debono, Success by Six chair at 815.939.1611, or email pam@endowthefuture.org.
