Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity's Office of Energy Assistance announced that seniors and people with disabilities can begin applying for winter heating assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), beginning September 1. Visit LiheapIllinois.com or call the hotline at 877-411-WARM for information. The program is designed to help eligible low income households pay for winter energy service.
For local information in Kankakee County, contact Kankakee County Community Services, Inc. at 815.933.7883. In Iroquois County contact the East Central Illinois Community Action Agency in Danville at 815.265.4685.
