Registration continues for Community Learning Centers’ fall session

Registration for classes in the 21st Century Community Learning Centers fall T.E.A.M. (Training, Educating, And Mentoring) program will run through September 26 at Steuben Elementary School in Kankakee.
Courses are designed for school-aged children, adults and senior citizens and are opened to all residents of Kankakee School District No.111. Classes will be held from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays at Steuben Elementary School, 520 S. Wildwood Ave and at Kankakee Junior High School, 2250 Crestview.
Academic assistance classes also will be held at Kankakee High School, Aroma Park Primary, Thomas Edison Primary, Mark Twain Primary and Lafayette Primary schools. A minimal fee will be assessed for all non-academic classes.
Classes will begin on September 29th and run through December 12th. Courses will be offered in several areas including arts and crafts, sewing, English as a second Language, food sanitation, adult computer (beginner & intermediate), dancing, sign language and beginners Spanish. Additional academic assistance is available in math and reading.
Registrations will be taken from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays at Steuben. For more details on course offerings or registration, contact Carolyn Butler, 21st Century Community Education Director, at 929-8860.
