Dr. Kay Green, retired educator and administrator with Kankakee School District No. 111 and Susan Wynn, director of the Tech Prep program at Kankakee Community College, were appointed to the Pledge for Life Partnership’s board of directors at its annual meeting held October 28 at the Hilton Garden Inn.
The board also recognized retiring board members Brian Rogers, Susan Barker and James Divine for their service.
The Pledge for Life Partnership is a volunteer-driven coalition of concerned citizens working to improve the quality of life in Kankakee and Iroquois counties through solutions that address the causes of school failure, substance abuse, juvenile delinquency and other life-compromising behaviors.
The Partnership is governed by a 24-member board of directors comprised of parents, community members and representatives from education, business, government, law enforcement and other health and social service agencies. Board members serve two-year terms.
